厳し戦いが続いてます　＠神子元

今日の神子元も、厳しい戦いでした。

良い潮がなかなか入ってこず、今日も冷たい水温との戦いとなりました。

昨日の海とはまったく違って、冷たいエリアが広がっていました。
場所によっては、水温が低いところがほとんどで、温かい潮は水面近くにわずかに感じられる程度。
下の方は冷たすぎて、逆に上の潮がとても温かく感じられるほどでした。

それでも、神子元の海は魚たちで賑わっていました！
イサキの群れ、メジナの群れ、ウメイロモドキの群れ、ムレハタタテダイの群れ、オオニベの群れ、そしてカンパチの群れ...。

本当に多くの魚たちが群れを成して泳いでいました。

単体の生き物も、アオウミガメやオオセザメ、メジロザメなどに出会えました。

そして今日のハンマーは...影のようにしか見えませんでした。

全体的に厳しい海況の一日でしたが、
明日は少しでも良い潮が入って、海が回復してくれますように──。

Another Tough Day at Mikomoto

It was another challenging day at Mikomoto today.
Good currents just wouldn't come in, so once again, we were battling the cold water temperatures.

The ocean was completely different from yesterday. Cold water had spread across the area, and in most spots, it was chilly throughout -- with just a thin layer of warm water near the surface.

The water below was so cold that the surface layer actually felt quite warm in comparison.
Even with the low water temperature, Mikomoto was full of life!

We saw schools of fish everywhere grunt (Isaki), Largescale blackfish (Mejina), yellow-and-blue fusiliers (Umeiro-modoki), schooling bannerfish (Mure-hatatate-dai), Japanese meagre (Ōnibe), amberjack (Kanpachi), and more.

There were also some amazing solo sightings: a sea turtle, a Japanese wobbegong shark (Ōosezame), and even a Sandbar shark (Mejiro-zame).

As for the hammerheads... today, we only saw them faintly, like shadows passing in the distance.

It was a tough day in the water.
Hoping for better ocean conditions tomorrow...
