Due to the effects of Typhoon No. 22, Mikomoto was closed for three days,
but today we were finally able to dive!
The wind had calmed down a bit, but the waves were still quite high.
In the morning, the waves weren't too bad, but by the afternoon, the wind picked up and the waves grew larger.
As a result, we unfortunately ended the day with just two dives.
Still, being able to dive twice at Mikomoto right after a typhoon felt incredibly lucky!
The underwater conditions were better than expected.
Visibility was around 7 to 10 meters, and the water temperature was a warm and comfortable 23 to 24°C.
However, the wind felt a bit chilly when we got back on the boat.
There was barely any current, so we were able to dive at a relaxed pace.
And underwater, it was absolutely full of life!
Huge schools of chicken grunt (Isaki), yellow-striped fusilier (Takabe), and mackerel scad (Muroaji),
as well as greater amberjack (Warasa), barracuda, and even a silky shark made appearances.
It turned out to be a very satisfying day of diving.
The forecast says the wind will die down tomorrow,
so Mikomoto should be open again.
We're looking forward to even better conditions!
